If you have been following me for long you know that my wife and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We are supposed to be empty nesters. Yeah, that is not happening thanks to Dr. Doolittle and her troop of hair balls. This story is about my dogs and how they motivated me to action one morning.
It was around 4:47 am and Roxi, our 4 year old lab, started barking and woke me up from a sound sleep. Actually, I am a very light sleeper so the least amount of noise wakes me. I have to sleep with an air purifier and a fan going for the white noise. This drowns out the ringing in my ears and keeps me from listening to every single noise in the house.
Bark Bark Bark goes Roxi. That means to say, hey, I need to go outside and do my business right now.
I am up and I do my duty and walk each dog seperately on a leash. We do not have a back yard with a fence so I have to put them on the leash so they do not go into someone else’s yard and leave them a prize. Our community management office frowns on those complaints.
Both dogs do their business and I let them into the bedroom so they can hop on the bed and go back to sleep. I sleep in the living room in my recliner. I have been doing that for 6 or more years now.
The only problem, is I am unable to go back to sleep. At first I was mildly irritated by…
