Our daughter, Jessica Ann, died 22 years ago due to two cancers in the form of a tumor that was attached to her brain stem. One cancer was very aggressive. When the doctors did emergency surgery they told us that if she lived 12 months we would be lucky. Jessica lasted 14 months and died on August 5 2001. Jessica's birthday was September 11th and had she made it that far she would have been 11. So, September 11th every year has a dual meaning for us. Your story hits close to home. I am so sorry you had to live through that. Parents should never have to bury their children. Grief changes you and you never get over it.
