My sister and I were adopted by a military couple in Germany. We were brought back to the US and became naturalized citizens. My sister and I never lived up to our adoptive parents expectations. I guess we were the black sheep of our family. Its a long story. I agree with the other responses here. You do not owe anyone anything. Relationships are two way streets. If they do not want anything to do with you then you owe them nothing.
