Just as there is a HomeEC class in high school there should be a financial literacy class that teaches young people the art of keeping a budget. Pay your NEEDS first and then if there is something left over you should SAVE it for a rainy day. I did not learn budgeting until I was in my mid 20's. When your lights get cut off or you get evicted because you did not pay the bills you learn pretty quick. Your message was spot on.
