In limbo still
We recently purchased a new home and for the first time in 32 years we are no longer renters. In the last two years we have had two landlords who decided to sell their homes. Recently when we learned we were moving again we were out beating the bushes for a new rental. We drove up to a house in the Park Circle area of town and there were 6 other people there waiting their turn to view the house. The home owner said that he had been there all day showing the house.
The housing market in Charleston SC is red hot and houses are going for more than the asking price. Houses do not stay on the market for long. This is partly because of the influx of new residents to our area. Big companies like Boeing, Mercedes Benz, Volvo and others have set up shop and are attracting people to this area. There are more people looking for places to live than there are houses or apartments to fill. The supply and demand is out of balance therefore the housing market is booming. Not only that but rentals are going up in price as well.
The papers have been signed and we moved all of our stuff into the new home. We were in a larger rental home before this one so we had extra furniture and things that I had to list on FB marketplace because it would not fit in our new home. I hired a moving company to come over and move the furniture and other heavy items to the new place. Myself and a friend of mine from across the street moved all of the boxes and small stuff. Needless to say, I HATE moving and I completely ran out of patience with all of that entails.
