I was terrified. Here I was being swung by my ankles in a dark room. The woman that was doing the swinging was my mother. My adoptive mother was swinging me around this room as a punishment for some sort of bad behavior.

I do not remember how old I was at the time. I am thinking that I must have been young for her to be able to do this to us. My sister and I both experienced this in our childhood. I remember how I was told that if I kept crying that the swinging would continue. There was barely any light coming into the room. I remember that there was a little bit of light coming through the venetian blinds and coming out at the top of the blackout…
