I qpplaud you for wanting to help that lady. I agree that you should have just excused yourself to go out to youre vehicle and then discreetly handed that lady your 5 bucks. Announcing your intentions allowed your heartless supervisor the opportunity to deny your ability to do that. I mean, what could she really have done? Write you up? I think that HR would have been able to step in at that point.
