Here is a picture of my balls

Last week I purchased a new bowling ball called the Raw Hammer.

The Hammer is a 14 lb bowling ball. You can purchase bowling balls that range from 11 lbs up to 16 lbs depending on your ability to throw a ball of those weights. Once upon a time I could throw a 16 lb ball with no problems. Having just turned 60 I do not have the energy or strength to do that any longer. My Storm is 15 lbs and it is amazing at how much difference there is between it and the new bowling ball.

For most people bowling is the type of sport that include drinking lots of beer, putting up the rails and having fun. If that is your thing and you could care less about hitting the head pin and making a strike then you can just use any of the house balls that you can find that will fit your fingers. I have been bowling on leagues for several decades now and I guess you would say I am a more serious bowler. This is probably the only sport I can participate in still. It gets me off my butt and out of the recliner and gives me some exercise.

I bowl on a Sunday night league and I have been bowling with the same two balls for the last 3 or 4 years. There was a time that I was an average bowler and had around a 160 average. Now I am doing good to bowl over 150. There is this thing called hand eye coordination that seems to have left me about a decade ago.
