Facebook Scammers: Beware

The other day I wrote an article about experiencing an Apple product such as the Macbook Pro and never looking back.

Well, that is not entirely true. Sure, I have had my Macbook Pro 202 M1 with 8 gb of unfied memory for a little over a year. Long enough for the warranty to expire. I did not purchase Applecare + to extend the warranty. I think you have to do that within 30 days of initial purchase.

The 8 gb of unified memory is what killed it for me. In my previous article I explained that the MacOS and the Grahapics processor shared that memory which caused a lot of out of resource error screens. So, I spent some time researching which laptop I wanted to upgrade to.

I went with the Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2 in 1 laptop and tablet. It has a 16.5 inch screen which is an OLED 4k monitor. It has 16 gb of ram and a 512 gb SSD drive. This thing is FAST…. :)

Fast forward to this evening. I had no sooner listed my Apple product on Facebook marketplace when someone hit me up in FB Chat. They wanted to send me 600.00 via Zelle. I have only used Zelle to send money to others but never received it. I had to edit my Zelle account and add my email address to receive money.

This is where it got dicey. I got an email from Zelle. It looked very legit. It said that in order for me to receive more than 500.00 I needed to upgrade to a business account. Have the sender send you an additional 500.00 so the account can be automatically upgraded. That means that I would receive 1100.00 and…
